Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nystaform HC is a topical combination medication developed by Typharm Limited, specifically formulated to treat inflammatory skin conditions complicated by fungal and bacterial infections. The product contains three active ingredients: nystatin, a polyene antifungal that disrupts fungal cell membranes by binding to ergosterol; hydrocortisone, a mild corticosteroid that acts as a glucocorticoid receptor agonist to reduce inflammation, itching, and redness; and chlorhexidine, an antibacterial agent that provides broad-spectrum activity against various bacteria. It is indicated for the treatment of infected dermatoses such as ringworm (tinea corporis), athlete's foot (tinea pedis), and infected nappy rash. Nystaform HC is available in both cream and ointment formulations for topical application.
