NYVAC-B is a replication-deficient poxvirus-based vaccine vector developed for HIV immunization. It expresses Gag, Pol, Nef, and Env proteins from an HIV clade B isolate. The vaccine is administered intramuscularly and has been evaluated in clinical trials for its safety and immunogenicity in HIV-infected patients. Clinical data from the Theravac-01 phase I trial showed that NYVAC-B is safe and highly immunogenic, inducing broad, vigorous, and polyfunctional HIV-specific T-cell responses in virtually all vaccinees.
