Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NZ-GHMH-01 is an investigational probiotic combination of two live bacterial strains, *Limosilactobacillus reuteri* DSM 32910 and *Lacticaseibacillus paracasei* DSM 32851. [1-2] It is formulated as an oral capsule and is being evaluated for its potential to improve glucose homeostasis in adults with prediabetes. [2-1, 2] A clinical trial sponsored by Novozymes A/S investigated the probiotic's effect on maintaining healthy blood sugar levels, improving insulin sensitivity, and glycemic control in prediabetic individuals with visceral obesity. [1-3, 2-2, 2] The study was a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial that compared NZ-GHMH-01 to both a placebo and metformin. [1-3, 2]
