This is a combination product containing three components: - "O" (identity unclear from available data; possibly an excipient, preservative, or an unspecified active ingredient), - carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), and - hyaluronic acid (HA). Carboxymethyl cellulose is a water-soluble polymer used as a lubricant and viscosity enhancer in ophthalmic preparations. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring glycosaminoglycan with viscoelastic and moisturizing properties, widely used for joint lubrication, wound healing, ophthalmologic treatments, and as an artificial tear component. In combination formulations for ocular use, CMC and HA act synergistically to form a lubricating film on the cornea that relieves symptoms of dry eye by mimicking natural tears[4][5]. These combinations are commonly found in artificial tear products for the management of dry eye disease. The mechanism of action involves physical lubrication of the ocular surface to reduce friction during blinking and enhance moisture retention. Hyaluronic acid may also interact with cell surface receptors such as CD44 to promote epithelial healing[5].
