O-Genesis is an autologous cell therapy candidate developed for the treatment of Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. The therapy involves the extraction of a patient's own adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs), which are then subjected to a proprietary ex vivo chemical reprogramming process to differentiate them into functional, insulin-producing cells (IPC). These cells are subsequently re-implanted into the patient, typically via the portal vein or into the omentum, where they are intended to sense blood glucose levels and secrete insulin in a physiologically appropriate manner. By restoring endogenous insulin production, O-Genesis aims to reduce or eliminate the dependency on exogenous insulin injections and improve long-term glycemic control.
