Drug intelligence / Profile preview
oAd-IL12-shVEGF (also known as GM103 or RdB/IL12/shVEGF) is an engineered, replication-competent oncolytic adenovirus developed by GeneMedicine in collaboration with Hanyang University and Chung-Ang University. It is designed to selectively replicate in and lyse cancer cells, inducing immunogenic cell death. The virus is genetically armed with two therapeutic transgenes: interleukin-12 (IL-12), which stimulates a potent local and systemic antitumor immune response by activating cytotoxic T lymphocytes and natural killer cells, and a short hairpin RNA targeting vascular endothelial growth factor (shVEGF), which silences VEGF expression to inhibit tumor angiogenesis and alleviate immunosuppression in the tumor microenvironment. oAd-IL12-shVEGF is currently in Phase I/II clinical development for the treatment of advanced, unresectable, or metastatic solid tumors, including colorectal cancer, renal cell carcinoma, melanoma, head and neck cancer, cervical cancer, and breast cancer, both as a monotherapy and in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors like pembrolizumab.
