Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OB-005 is a precision-engineered peptide antagonist of the gastric inhibitory polypeptide receptor (GIPR), currently in preclinical development by Orion Biotechnology Canada. The drug was discovered using Orion's proprietary PRO-cision™ platform, which enables the design of highly potent and selective peptide ligands for G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). OB-005 is primarily targeted at the treatment of obesity and associated metabolic disorders, leveraging the therapeutic potential of GIPR antagonism to regulate body weight and metabolic function. As a peptide-based therapeutic, it aims to provide a targeted approach to metabolic disease management with high specificity for its receptor target.
