Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OB1111 is a proprietary synthetic cationic lipo-oligopeptide (CLOP) and antimicrobial peptide (AMP) being developed by Owen Biosciences in collaboration with Alabama State University. It is designed as a broad-spectrum antimicrobial and antiviral agent. In preclinical studies, OB1111 has demonstrated potent antiviral activity against Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) by inhibiting viral plaque formation, reducing viral load, and decreasing the expression of major viral glycoproteins (glycoprotein D and glycoprotein B). Additionally, OB1111 exhibits strong antibacterial, anti-biofilm, and anti-virulence activities against Gram-negative pathogens, specifically *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* (including PA14 and PAO1 strains), by deforming and disintegrating bacterial membranes.
