Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OBI-R007 is a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by OBI Pharma that targets Globo H, a glycosphingolipid antigen. Globo H is a tumor-associated carbohydrate antigen (TACA) frequently overexpressed in various epithelial cancers, including breast, gastric, colorectal, and small cell lung cancers, while showing limited expression in normal tissues. OBI-R007 consists of T-cells engineered to express a CAR specific for Globo H, enabling them to recognize and eliminate Globo H-positive tumor cells. Preclinical data presented at the AACR 2023 Annual Meeting demonstrated significant anti-tumor activity in multiple animal models. However, some reports indicate that the development of OBI-R007 has been discontinued.
