Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OBN-06 is an orally bioavailable small molecule developed by Oban BioPharma that acts as a positive allosteric modulator and agonist (Ago-PAM) of the muscarinic M4 receptor. By selectively targeting the M4 receptor, OBN-06 is designed to modulate dopaminergic activity in the brain, offering a potential therapeutic approach for neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative conditions without the side effects associated with direct dopamine receptor antagonism. The compound is currently in IND-enabling studies for the treatment of schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease psychosis, and L-DOPA-induced dyskinesia in Parkinson's disease.
