Overview

OC-103 is a gene therapy candidate developed by Oyster Point Pharmaceuticals (now part of Viatris) for ophthalmic indications, specifically for the treatment of keratoconjunctivitis. The therapy utilizes an adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector to deliver the gene encoding diamine oxidase (DAO) to ocular tissues, aiming to address ocular inflammation associated with keratoconjunctivitis through gene transference. The mechanism is gene transfer, introducing the DAO gene into cells to support an anti-inflammatory effect. The drug has not yet received orphan status and is classified under eye disorder therapies and gene therapies. Preclinical development status as of January 2023[3].
