Overview

OC-L + Ampligen is an investigational combination immunotherapy regimen being developed by the Abramson Cancer Center at Penn Medicine for the treatment of recurrent ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal cancers. The therapy consists of **OC-L**, a personalized autologous vaccine composed of oxidized tumor cell lysate derived from the patient's own tumor cells, and **Ampligen** (rintatolimod), a synthetic double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) molecule that acts as a Toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) agonist. The OC-L vaccine is designed to present a broad spectrum of tumor-associated antigens to the patient's immune system, while Ampligen serves as a potent adjuvant to stimulate innate immunity and enhance the adaptive immune response against the tumor. In clinical protocols, the vaccine is typically emulsified with Montanide ISA 51 VG and administered alongside Prevnar (a pneumococcal vaccine) used as a positive control for immune responsiveness.
