Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OC132 is a topical ocular drug candidate being developed by Nanomerics for the treatment of post-operative ocular pain. It is a formulation of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indomethacin, utilizing Nanomerics' proprietary Molecular Envelope Technology (MET). MET is a delivery platform based on the biocompatible polymer GCPQ (N-palmitoyl-N-monomethyl-N,N-dimethyl-N,N,N-trimethyl-6-O-glycolchitosan), which self-assembles into nanoparticles to encapsulate poorly water-soluble drugs. This technology enhances the penetration of indomethacin into ocular tissues—achieving levels 5 to 18 times higher than conventional formulations—while maintaining a non-irritant profile and minimizing systemic plasma exposure.
