Overview

OC134 is a novel eye drop candidate developed by Nanomerics for the topical treatment of moderate to severe allergic conjunctivitis, particularly targeting cases where suitable non-steroidal topical ocular treatments are lacking. The formulation leverages Nanomerics' proprietary Molecular Envelope Technology (MET), a patented biocompatible polymer platform designed as a non-irritant ocular penetration enhancer. MET significantly increases the bioavailability and tissue penetration of active pharmaceutical ingredients in the eye, with preclinical studies showing up to an 18-fold increase in ocular deposition compared to conventional formulations. As of early 2025, OC134 has completed Phase I clinical trials (the SUNLIGHT trial) in healthy volunteers, demonstrating good tolerability and no moderate or severe adverse events. The precise mechanism of action for the active ingredient remains undefined or undisclosed.
