Overview

OCM-111 is an investigational multi-armed oncolytic virus therapy developed by OncoMyx Therapeutics, based on the myxoma virus (MYXV) platform. MYXV is a leporipoxvirus that is naturally tumor-tropic but non-pathogenic to humans, making it an ideal vector for systemic cancer therapy. OCM-111 is genetically engineered to carry three distinct immunomodulatory payloads, including Interleukin-12 (IL-12), FLT3 ligand (FLT3L), and OX40 ligand (OX40L), which are expressed locally within the tumor microenvironment upon viral infection. This 'tri-armed' approach is designed to stimulate both innate and adaptive immune responses, effectively converting 'cold' tumors into 'hot' tumors and overcoming the immunosuppressive barriers of the tumor microenvironment. Unlike many other oncolytic viruses that require intratumoral injection, OCM-111 is being developed for intravenous administration to treat both primary tumors and metastatic disease.
