OCS-05 + corticosteroid

OCS-05 is an investigational, first-in-class, small peptide neuroprotectant developed for the treatment of acute optic neuritis and other neuro-ophthalmic diseases. Its mechanism of action involves activation of trophic factor pathways such as insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF‑1) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), as well as stimulation of serum-glucocorticoid regulated kinase (SGK2). This activity is believed to protect nerve axons and prevent vision loss in demyelinating conditions. In clinical trials, OCS‑05 has been administered intravenously alongside corticosteroids—standard-of-care for acute optic neuritis—and has demonstrated safety and efficacy in improving retinal structure and visual function compared to placebo plus steroid.
