Overview

OCT1002 (uHAP 2) is a next-generation, non-cytotoxic prodrug developed by OncoTherics. It is designed as an ultrasound-activated and hypoxia-activated prodrug (uHAP) that selectively converts into a potent Topoisomerase II (TOPO 2) inhibitor within the hypoxic regions of tumors. This dual-activation mechanism, utilizing both hypoxia and ultrasound, is intended to enhance therapeutic precision and reduce systemic toxicity compared to its predecessor, uHAP 1 (OCT1004). OCT1002 is being developed for the treatment of prostate cancer and has potential for a broad range of other cancers due to its tumor-agnostic mechanism. It is currently in late preclinical development, with Phase 1 clinical trial planning underway.
