Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Octevy is a radiopharmaceutical diagnostic agent supplied as a kit for the preparation of Gallium-68 (Ga 68) DOTATOC injection. It is designed for use with positron emission tomography (PET) imaging to localize somatostatin receptor-positive neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) in adult and pediatric patients. The kit enables radiopharmacies to prepare the injectable product on-site using an elution from a Gallium-68 generator. The mechanism of action involves targeting somatostatin receptors, which are overexpressed in many NETs, allowing precise imaging and localization of these tumors. Octevy is not yet FDA approved but has been submitted for regulatory review in the United States[1][3][6].
