Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LiquiBand Rapid is a topical skin adhesive developed by Advanced Medical Solutions Group (AMS) for the closure of surgical incisions and trauma-induced lacerations. The product is composed of 2-octyl cyanoacrylate, a cyanoacrylate monomer that polymerizes rapidly upon contact with moisture on the skin's surface to form a flexible, high-strength bond. It features an accelerated drying technology, achieving a dry state in approximately 30 seconds. Beyond mechanical wound closure, it provides a water-resistant microbial barrier that offers in vitro protection against a broad spectrum of gram-positive, gram-negative, and fungal microbes. It is primarily utilized in operating rooms and emergency departments as a needle-free alternative to sutures or staples.
