Overview

OCU-10-C-110 is a small molecule drug candidate developed by Ocugenix for the treatment of neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). The drug acts as a selective agonist of the C-X-C chemokine receptor type 3 (CXCR3) pathway, which is implicated in pruning abnormal blood vessels and limiting fibrosis during wound healing. Unlike current therapies that block single growth factors such as VEGF, OCU-10-C-110 activates the CXCR3 pathway to override multiple proangiogenic and profibrotic signals. This mechanism aims to induce regression of abnormal neovascularization and fibrotic tissue while preserving normal vascular structures. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials for wet age-related macular degeneration.
