Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ocurest AH is an approved ophthalmic fixed-dose combination drug developed by Centaur Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of allergic eye diseases, such as allergic conjunctivitis, and to relieve symptoms like redness, itching, swelling, and watering of the eyes. The formulation combines five active ingredients: chlorpheniramine maleate (an antihistamine that blocks histamine H1 receptors), phenylephrine hydrochloride and naphazoline hydrochloride (vasoconstrictors/decongestants that act as alpha-adrenergic receptor agonists to reduce redness and swelling), and camphor and menthol (which provide a cooling and soothing effect to alleviate minor eye irritation).
