Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ocurest New is an ophthalmic solution developed by Centaur Pharmaceuticals for the management of ocular allergy, eye irritation, and dry eye symptoms. It is a fixed-dose combination containing boric acid, borax, zinc sulphate, and menthol. Boric acid and borax serve as mild antiseptics and buffering agents that help maintain ocular hygiene and a balanced pH. Zinc sulphate acts as an astringent to relieve redness and congestion by clearing mucus and soothing the ocular surface. Menthol provides a cooling and refreshing sensation by activating the cold-sensitive TRPM8 receptors, thereby alleviating eye strain and discomfort caused by environmental factors such as dust, pollution, or prolonged screen time.
