Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ocuvers-L is a low-concentration phospholipid-based ophthalmic eye spray developed by innomedis AG for the treatment of dry eye disease and disorders of the lacrimal system. As a medical device, it is formulated as a liposomal spray containing soy lecithin and is applied to closed eyelids. The liposomes migrate to the eyelid margin and supplement the lipid layer of the tear film upon blinking, which improves tear film stability (measured by non-invasive break-up time, NIBUT) and reduces evaporation. The formulation is free of ethanol and benzalkonium chloride, making it odorless and suitable for sensitive eyes.
