OCV-101 is a peptide-based cancer vaccine targeting Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 1 (VEGFR1), specifically restricted to patients carrying the HLA-A*24:02 allele. Developed by OncoTherapy Science in collaboration with Otsuka, the vaccine consists of a specific peptide fragment derived from VEGFR1 designed to stimulate the production of cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (CTLs). These CTLs are intended to recognize and eliminate VEGFR1-expressing endothelial cells within the tumor neovasculature, thereby disrupting angiogenesis and inhibiting tumor growth. OCV-101 is primarily being investigated for the treatment of progressive neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2)-related vestibular schwannoma, often in combination with OTS-102 (a VEGFR2 peptide vaccine), and has also been evaluated in early-phase trials for advanced solid tumors.
