Ocvlin

Ocvlin is a topical ophthalmic antibiotic solution containing ofloxacin, a second-generation fluoroquinolone. Developed and marketed by Jainson Biotech, it is indicated for the treatment of bacterial ocular infections, including conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers caused by susceptible strains of microorganisms. Ofloxacin exerts its bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes that are essential for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. This inhibition leads to DNA strand breakage and bacterial cell death. Ocvlin is formulated as a 0.3% ophthalmic solution for topical administration to the eye.
