OCX-063

OCX-063 is a novel small molecule drug developed for the treatment of proliferative retinal diseases and chronic kidney disease. It acts as an anti-inflammatory, antifibrotic, and angiogenesis inhibitor agent. Mechanistically, it functions as an antagonist of the GPR68 protein and inhibits the angiogenesis pathway. Preclinical studies have shown that oral administration of OCX-063 reduces fibrosis in models of choroidal neovascularization and decreases inflammatory markers in diabetic rat models. The drug has been evaluated for conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), chronic kidney disease, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic nephropathy, non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy, proliferative vitreoretinopathy, wet macular degeneration, glaucoma, and other eye disorders[1][2][3][4][5][6][7].
