OCX-253 is a humanized mono-specific monoclonal antibody targeting chitinase-3-like protein 1 (CHI3L1, also known as YKL-40). It is being developed for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), specifically targeting patients with elevated circulating levels of CHI3L1, which has been associated with tumor aggressiveness and poor prognosis in multiple cancer types. OCX-253 inhibits CHI3L1, a protein implicated in the pathogenesis of several visceral tumors, with the goal of reducing tumor burden and serving as a biomarker-driven therapy. The antibody is designed to harness anti-tumor immune mechanisms and is part of a broader pipeline that includes related bispecific antibodies.
