OCX-909 is a bispecific antibody targeting both chitinase 3-like 1 (CHI3L1, also known as YKL-40) and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA-4), under development by Ocean Biomedical for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) and other cancer indications. It functions as an immunotherapy by combining immune checkpoint inhibition (via CTLA-4) with modulation of the tumor microenvironment (via CHI3L1 inhibition), aiming to enhance immune-mediated antitumor effects. The molecule employs mechanisms such as antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity, checkpoint inhibition, and T lymphocyte stimulation. Development is currently preclinical for GBM and in research for other cancers. The drug originated from Brown University and is being developed by Ocean Biomedical[1][3][5].
