Overview

ODAM recombinant protein is a recombinant form of the odontogenic ameloblast-associated protein (ODAM), also known as APIN. ODAM is a developmental antigen primarily involved in tooth maturation and the maintenance of junctional epithelium integrity. In oncology research, ODAM has been identified as a potential prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target, particularly in breast cancer and other epithelial malignancies. Ectopic expression or treatment with recombinant ODAM protein has been shown to moderate cell growth, increase apoptosis, and inhibit the migration and invasion of highly invasive breast cancer cells (such as MDA-MB-231) in vitro and in vivo, partially through modulating the TGF-beta signaling pathway and interacting with Runx2.
