Overview
Odetiglucan + pembrolizumab is an investigational combination therapy for cancer. Odetiglucan (also known as Imprime PGG) is a novel intravenously administered beta-glucan that acts as a Dectin-1 pattern recognition receptor agonist and innate immune activator. It functions as a pathogen-associated molecular pattern (PAMP), driving immune activation by repolarizing the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment and promoting maturation of antigen-presenting cells, thereby enhancing both innate and adaptive anti-tumor immunity. Pembrolizumab (Keytruda) is a monoclonal antibody targeting programmed death receptor-1 (PD-1), functioning as an immune checkpoint inhibitor to restore T-cell activity against tumors. The combination aims to overcome resistance to immunotherapy in metastatic hormone-refractory breast cancer and has also been studied in triple-negative breast cancer. Odetiglucan is developed by HiberCell; pembrolizumab is developed by Merck.
