Overview

ODM-108 + midazolam is a combination of ODM-108, a small molecule drug developed by Orion Pharma that acts as a selective and reversible negative allosteric modulator (inhibitor) of the transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily A member 1 (TRPA1), with midazolam, a well-established benzodiazepine acting as a positive allosteric modulator of the GABA-A receptor. As documented in a clinical study, the combination was assessed in humans to study pharmacokinetic interactions and the tolerability of ODM-108. ODM-108 was primarily being developed for neuropathic pain and related nervous system diseases, but its development was discontinued due to tolerability issues. The combination does not represent a marketed product but rather a study drug pairing in a terminated Phase 1 clinical trial focused on drug-drug interactions and pharmacodynamic effects in healthy volunteers[1][4][7].
