Overview
Odontopaste is a specialized endodontic medication used as an intracanal dressing in root canal therapy. It is a zinc oxide-based paste containing multiple active ingredients designed to provide antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects within the root canal system. Its composition includes: - 5% clindamycin hydrochloride (broad-spectrum antibiotic) - 1% triamcinolone acetonide (steroid-based anti-inflammatory agent) - 0.5% calcium hydroxide The base of the paste is zinc oxide, which aids in creating a temporary obturation material. This combination is intended to prevent bacterial repopulation, temporarily reduce inflammation, provide postoperative pain relief, and maintain a bacteria-free environment.
