Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Oflagenix Plus is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by Nilegenix, a generic pharmaceutical company based in India. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of mixed gastrointestinal infections, infectious diarrhea, and dysentery. The formulation typically combines two antimicrobial agents with a probiotic: Ofloxacin, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA replication by targeting DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV; Ornidazole, a nitroimidazole derivative that disrupts microbial DNA through the production of reactive intermediates; and *Lactobacillus*, a probiotic used to restore the natural balance of gut flora and prevent antibiotic-associated diarrhea. As a commercial generic formulation, it is approved for clinical use in its target markets.
