Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Oflora-LB is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product manufactured by Kylon Remedies, primarily used for the treatment of mixed bacterial and protozoal infections. It is commonly indicated for gastrointestinal conditions such as infectious diarrhea and dysentery, as well as pelvic inflammatory disease and certain respiratory or urinary tract infections. The formulation combines three active components: **ofloxacin**, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA replication by targeting DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV; **ornidazole**, a nitroimidazole derivative effective against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa by causing DNA strand breakage; and **Lactobacillus** (typically *Lactobacillus sporogenes* or *Bacillus coagulans*), a probiotic included to restore healthy intestinal flora and mitigate the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhea.
