Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Oftaial Plus is a hypotonic medical device ophthalmic solution developed by Alfa Intes for the treatment of dry eye syndrome and lacrimal dysfunction. The formulation contains sodium hyaluronate (0.4%) and taurine (0.5%), along with essential salts such as magnesium, potassium, and sodium chloride. Sodium hyaluronate acts as a high-molecular-weight lubricant and humectant that stabilizes the tear film and protects the corneal epithelium from environmental stressors, contact lens wear, and digital screen use. Taurine, an amino acid naturally present in tear fluid, serves as an osmoprotectant, supporting cell survival and ocular surface health under hyperosmotic conditions. The product is preservative-free and available in both multi-dose and single-dose formats.
