Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Oftipan is an over-the-counter artificial tears ophthalmic lubricant product marketed by Valeant Pharmaceuticals/Bausch & Lomb for relief of dry eye symptoms and ocular surface irritation. It is a non‑pharmaceutical eye lubricant preparation containing inert moisturizing and protective agents designed to stabilize the tear film, reduce friction between the eyelid and cornea, and protect the ocular surface without exerting any specific pharmacologic action on ocular tissues. As an artificial tears formulation, its components act locally on the eye surface and are not intended to modify disease biology systemically.
