Overview

OG-7191 is a preclinical small molecule inhibitor program targeting polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), a common endocrine disorder in women associated with metabolic dysfunction, hyperandrogenism, and infertility. The mechanism of action is through inhibition of Aldo-keto-reductase family 1 member C3 (also known as 17β-HSD5), an enzyme involved in androgen biosynthesis. OG-7191 was originally developed by Forendo Pharma and is now in development by Organon, following acquisition of Forendo Pharma. There are currently no approved therapies for PCOS, making this a high-priority research area for its developer.
