Overview

OGB21502 is a long-acting, tetra-specific recombinant fusion protein developed by OncoGlory Biotech using its proprietary UniStac technology. It is designed to target the liver microenvironment (LME) to treat chronic liver diseases, specifically liver fibrosis and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). The molecule simultaneously acts as an agonist for the glucagon receptor (GCGR), the glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R), and the fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1)/Klotho beta (KLB) complex, while also modulating a cytokine receptor. This multi-target approach is intended to control key processes in the LME, including hepatocyte apoptosis, macrophage activation, and fibroblast activation. Preclinical studies in mouse models have demonstrated that OGB21502 can significantly reduce blood ALT levels, hepatic hydroxyproline, and histopathological scores for fibrosis, inflammation, and hepatocyte ballooning, while also inhibiting the progression to cirrhosis.
