Overview

OGD203 is a preclinical-stage chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) cell therapy being developed by OGD2 Pharma. It is designed to target O-acetylated-GD2 (OAcGD2), a tumor-associated ganglioside that is highly expressed on various neuroectoderm-derived tumors, such as neuroblastoma, melanoma, and certain sarcomas, while having limited expression in normal tissues. By engineering T-cells or NK-cells to express a CAR specific for OAcGD2, OGD203 aims to directly recognize and eliminate tumor cells. This approach potentially offers a safety advantage over targeting GD2, as OAcGD2 is not expressed on peripheral nerves, potentially avoiding the severe neuropathic pain associated with anti-GD2 monoclonal antibodies.
