Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OGN-TL1A is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor of Tumor Necrosis Factor-like Ligand 1A (TL1A), also known as TNFSF15. Developed by Orogen Therapeutics, the program is currently in the hit-to-lead stage for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease. TL1A is a member of the TNF superfamily that plays a critical role in modulating immune responses and promoting inflammation and fibrosis, particularly in the gastrointestinal tract. By inhibiting TL1A, OGN-TL1A aims to provide a therapeutic option for patients with chronic inflammatory conditions. Unlike many other TL1A-targeted therapies in development which are monoclonal antibodies, OGN-TL1A is a small molecule, potentially offering advantages in oral bioavailability and tissue penetration.
