OK-201

OK-201 is a synthetic peptide and non-opioid analgesic developed by OKYO Pharma for the treatment of neuropathic and ocular pain. It acts as an agonist of human MAS-related G protein-coupled receptor X1 (MRGPRX1), a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family involved in pain signaling pathways. Preclinical studies demonstrated that topical administration of OK-201 reduced corneal pain responses in animal models to levels comparable with gabapentin, suggesting potential utility for acute and chronic ocular pain. Despite promising preclinical results, development was discontinued in favor of other candidates[1][3][6].
