OKSI is a botanical combination extract developed by Universitas Negeri Semarang, Indonesia, specifically formulated to mitigate exercise-induced oxidative stress. The product contains a mixture of 400 mg of Garcinia mangostana (mangosteen) rind extract and 200 mg of Solanum lycopersicum fructus (tomato) extract. It leverages the antioxidant properties of bioactive compounds such as xanthones and anthocyanins from mangosteen, alongside lycopene and other antioxidants from tomato. OKSI is primarily intended for sedentary individuals to reduce biomarkers of oxidative damage and cardiac stress, specifically targeting levels of malondialdehyde (MDA) and high-sensitivity Cardiac-Troponin I (hs-cTnI) following physical exertion. It is registered as a traditional medicine in Indonesia.
