Okuzell

Okuzell is a range of ophthalmic lubricant eye drops developed by Pharmaselect International, primarily indicated for the management of dry eye syndrome (keratoconjunctivitis sicca) and ocular surface irritation. The product line includes several specialized formulations: Okuzell one (0.2% sodium hyaluronate), Okuzell forte (0.4% sodium hyaluronate for intensive lubrication), Okuzell lipid (combining sodium hyaluronate with lipids to stabilize the evaporative layer of the tear film), and Okuzell relief (containing soothing agents). The primary active ingredient, sodium hyaluronate, is a high-molecular-weight viscoelastic polysaccharide that mimics the properties of natural tears. It functions by binding to water and adhering to the corneal epithelium, thereby stabilizing the tear film, reducing moisture evaporation, and protecting the ocular surface from friction-induced damage during blinking.
