Okuzell lipid

Okuzell lipid is a liposome-based ophthalmic spray developed by Pharmaselect International for the treatment of dry eye disease (Sicca syndrome), particularly evaporative dry eye. The formulation contains a phospholipid complex and sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid). Unlike traditional eye drops, Okuzell lipid is applied to the closed eyelid; upon blinking, the liposomes migrate to the lid margin and integrate into the tear film. This action replenishes and stabilizes the deficient lipid layer, significantly reducing tear evaporation. Simultaneously, the sodium hyaluronate provides long-lasting moisture and lubrication to the ocular surface. The product is preservative-free and is suitable for children, contact lens wearers, and patients who find traditional eye drops difficult to administer.
