Overview

OL-CD19-GDT is an investigational allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed for the treatment of relapsed or refractory autoimmune diseases. The therapy utilizes gamma-delta (γδ) T cells, which are genetically modified to express a CAR targeting the B-lymphocyte antigen CD19. Gamma-delta T cells are utilized as the cellular platform because they recognize antigens in an MHC-independent manner, which significantly reduces the risk of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) and facilitates the creation of "off-the-shelf" allogeneic products. OL-CD19-GDT aims to achieve clinical remission by selectively depleting CD19-positive B cells, which are central to the pathogenesis of various autoimmune conditions. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc) and primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS).
