Overview

This is a combination of five atypical antipsychotic drugs: olanzapine, risperidone, aripiprazole, quetiapine, and amisulpride. Each drug acts primarily as an antagonist or partial agonist at dopamine D2 receptors and various serotonin receptors in the brain. These medications are individually approved for the treatment of schizophrenia and other psychiatric disorders such as bipolar disorder; some also have indications for depression or prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting. The combination of multiple antipsychotics is not standard practice due to increased risk of side effects and limited evidence supporting superior efficacy over monotherapy; however, combinations may be used in treatment-resistant cases under specialist supervision[1][2][5]. All five agents are classified as second-generation (atypical) antipsychotics.
