Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Oleanolic acid-zinc complex** is an experimental zinc coordination complex of oleanolic acid, a pentacyclic triterpenoid. In an ovalbumin-induced rat model of allergic asthma, it reduced airway inflammatory responses, including delayed-type hypersensitivity, inflammatory-cell accumulation, immunoglobulin E, cyclooxygenase-2, 5-lipoxygenase, nitric oxide, splenocyte proliferation, and pulmonary expression of several inflammatory mediators. The reported activity is preclinical and appears to reflect broad anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects; no direct molecular binding target, clinical development program, marketed product, or human dosing formulation has been established.
