oleiferoside D

Oleiferoside D is an oleanane-type triterpenoid saponin isolated from the ethanol extract of the roots of *Camellia oleifera*, commonly known as the oil-seed camellia or tea oil tree. Structurally, it consists of an oleanane aglycone with sugar moieties attached at the C-3 position. In pharmacological evaluations, oleiferoside D has demonstrated moderate in vitro cytotoxic activity against several human tumor cell lines, including A549 (lung cancer), B16 (melanoma), BEL-7402 (hepatocellular carcinoma), and MCF-7 (breast cancer). It is primarily of interest in natural product research as a potential lead compound for antineoplastic therapy.
