oleiferoside H

Oleiferoside H is a novel triterpenoid saponin isolated from the ethanol extract of the roots of *Camellia oleifera*. Chemically, it is characterized as an oleanane-type saponin with sugar moieties attached at the C-3 position of the aglycone. Research into this compound, along with related oleiferosides, has focused on its potential antineoplastic properties. In vitro studies using the MTT assay have evaluated its cytotoxic activity against various human tumor cell lines, including lung cancer (A549), melanoma (B16), hepatocellular carcinoma (BEL-7402), and breast cancer (MCF-7). While other members of the series (such as oleiferoside C) have shown potent activity, oleiferoside H is typically characterized as having moderate to weak cytotoxic effects in these preclinical models.
