Overview

Olendalizumab (also known as lendalizumab) is a monoclonal antibody that acts as an inhibitor of complement component C5a. It is being developed for immunological indications where inhibition of the C5a pathway may be beneficial, such as graft rejection, acute graft versus host disease, and antiphospholipid syndrome. By targeting and inhibiting C5a, a potent pro-inflammatory mediator generated during complement activation, olendalizumab aims to reduce inflammation and immune-mediated tissue damage[8]. The drug has reached phase 2 clinical trials for graft rejection and phase 1 trials for acute graft versus host disease and antiphospholipid syndrome[8].
